The CNC Mill Machinist ensures the accuracy of production runs by programming, setting up, and monitoring runs for quality by performing the following duties.

• Program G and M code at the machine and set-up CNC Okuma Lathes to machine parts to specified tolerances.
• Conducts programming G and M code as required.
• Inspect the first part produced to ensure dimensional and aesthetic qualities before turning into QA for 1st article inspection.
• Monitors the run throughout the cycle, checking that dimensional and aesthetic qualities are being met.
• Responsible for loading parts/raw material, operating controls, holding tolerances and deburring parts as specified on blueprints.
• Verify dimensions and aesthetic quality of parts for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.

This position requires experience in troubleshooting machining issues with various types of CNC lathes, experiencing in matching tight tolerance parts, and seven years of programming experience with CNC Lathes.

• Set-up and operate Okuma and Doosan CNC Lathes with live tooling.
• Program CNC Lathes with live tooling at the control using G and M codes (CAMWorks software is a plus).
• Machine parts to prints and CAD models.
• Experience with inspecting parts using micrometers, calipers, and various other inspection equipment.
• Proficient at blueprint reading and understanding of geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T).
• Ability to select proper tooling to manufacture complex details.
• Perform prescribed preventive maintenance on machines as required per PM schedules.
