Our Orlando precision CNC machine shop features well-maintained turning equipment that is rigid, stable and accurate enough to successfully accomplish hard turning – and is set up to efficiently manufacture parts in both low and high volumes.

Manufactured for a customer in the amusement park industry, the flanged bushing highlighted here is an example of the kind of components we machine to close manufacturing tolerances. It is constructed from 660 Bronze – an alloy characterized by its high strength, good anti-friction properties, and resistance to impact, wear, and corrosion. This part featured thin walled sections, so our challenge was to choose the most appropriate cutting tools and adjust the machining parameters to repeatably uphold dimensional accuracy. Another important aspect of this job was to create a 32 micro finish on the machined surfaces.

A technically skilled operator with hands-on knowledge of advanced manufacturing processes turned this part on one of our CNC lathes. We performed dimensional and visual inspections to confirm that part accuracy and the surface quality complied with the customer specification.

As finished, this part featured dimensions of 3.00” in diameter x 1.750” in length. By using machining equipment geared for precision cutting and paying attention to every detail, we upheld tolerances of ±.0005”.
